Pedro Tudela

Pedro Tudela was born in Viseu in 1962. He completed a degree in Painting at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto (ESBAP) in 1987. Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP). As a student at ESBAP, he was co-founder of Grupo Missionário: he organized national and international exhibitions of paintings, mail art and performance. He has participated in several performance festivals since 1982. He is the author and presenter of the radio shows Choose a Finger and Reduction Atmosphere on xfm between 1995 and 1996. In 1992, on the occasion of the exhibition “Mute ... life”, he founded the multimedia collective Mute Life dept. [MLd]. He embarked on sound production in 1992, participating in concerts, performances and record editions, in Portugal and abroad. Co-founder and one of the members of the multidisciplinary and digital music project @c. Founding member of the media label Crónica. He has been working in scenography since 2003. He has exhibited regularly individually since 1981. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad since the early 1980s. He is represented in museums, public and private collections. He lives and works in Porto. (www.pedrotudela.org)
