Auto pré-luto

Pre-mourning self refers to the idea of a cycle, of eternal return, of rebirth; it addresses a journey, a psychological transition, preparation, emotional work, through its materialization made ritual. Where elements, materials and ways of doing things are connected with Portuguese Minho-Galician culture, such as working with hair, the sound of bagpipes, the presence of different woods, blood, water, soap, and the act of washing are appropriate to create an evocative environment of the sacred and the feminine; a narrative is constructed through the body to the space where perceptual modes occur that we associate with subtractive processes, which continue the narrative of the performance with its elements taking on new places. In the space that is modeled, where the materials used take on their value and their own occasionally metaphorical languages to talk about re-evaluation of a state, re-placement, and assimilation.
