Gisberta

The reason for this performance is because of Gisberta, the transgendered woman killed in Porto. Performer 1, performing on stage in drag, unrolls toilet paper and circulates among the audience tables, bringing sheets of paper to each spectator. On stage, Performer 2 unfurls large-scale images from a collection of photographic prints used in the installation OS ERRANTES by João Sousa Cardoso, curated by José Maia, at the Porto Municipal Gallery in 2014. Meanwhile, Performer 3 reads an original text about the months of confinement, life in downtown Porto and the friendship that unites the three artists.
