INTERMITÊNCIAS #1

This performance creates a dialogue between the presence of the bodies live and the presence of their voices duplicated by recordings made during the preparation of the presentation. Work as a theme asserts itself here as one of the fundamental lines of action of the “INTERMITTENCIES” project. We approach the imaginary factory, the industrial city, evoking the late 19th and early 20th century; places for the propagation of new modes of production which in turn would serve as an engine for profound changes in the social fabric. The conversations in the studio served as the basis for the construction of a documented speech and used as part of the action's soundtrack, highlighting the idea of depersonalization and specialization of the body subjected to the routine of work, to serial production, to the permanent adaptation to new technologies. On production. The performance integrates chains of procedures: conversations that produce images, images that in turn provoke new processes of transformation of materials. Processes of repetition, disassembly and transformation of glass structures, precariously assembled, are experimented with. Glass is used as a material and as a visual filter, a substance in a transitory, transparent state, which allows visibility between different spaces, between inside and outside. The intermittent sound of a factory siren, integrated into the soundtrack, reproduces a call to work, an invitation to transpose the space that divides industrial production and private life.
